Winter often means snow, freezing temperatures, and wearing lots of layers to stay warm. I have to admit, winter isn’t my favorite season. I’m not a big fan of the cold. When it’s winter, I prefer staying at home rather than doing things outdoors. I just want to get cozy and relax.

Maybe you’re like me and don’t really enjoy winter either. The darker, shorter days can sometimes feel a bit depressing, but I guess we have to make the most of it. I always make sure I’m comfortable and cozy during this season, so I made a list of cozy things to do when it’s freezing outside.

Cozy Things to Do When It’s Freezing Outside

Reading

I think I put reading on every list I create for my blog, but honestly, it’s the one thing that really helps me on the harder days. I just love escaping into a different world. As soon as I start reading, I can completely relax. I feel happier because I’m not focused on the things I don’t want to think about.

Every evening when I come home from work, I pick up a book and start reading, no screentime, just me and my books. On the weekends, I take it a step further and create the coziest reading sessions. I pick a fun book, make some tea, and prepare or buy my favorite snacks. Of course, I wear my comfiest clothes and wrap myself in a soft blanket.

Coloring

I’m loving the coloring trend right now. There are so many cozy coloring books available. They’re very easy, any child could do them, but I enjoy them just as much. I usually use cheap alcohol markers and spend an hour simply enjoying coloring a page. Most of the time, I prefer to color in silence, but sometimes I put on a CD and sing along. Coloring helps shift your focus. For me, it’s a way to relax and stop thinking about “negative” things.

Baking

Is there anything cozier than baking? I don’t think so. It’s definitely the perfect activity for a freezing cold day. Just bake some brownies and enjoy eating them later. There’s something so satisfying about making something yourself—it tastes so much fresher than store-bought treats. Or imagine baking an apple pie, with your whole home filled with that warm, sweet aroma. Then you have the perfect snack for a cozy reading afternoon.

Watch your favorite movie/show

I prefer to limit my screentime, so I’ve stopped bingewatching shows. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy watching movies or shows, though! Every Saturday night, I love having a movie night. The best part of not bingewatching a show in one or two days is that you can enjoy it longer. When I was younger, that was pretty normal, you had to wait a whole week for the next episode to air on TV.

Listen to podcast

I’ve been saying this for a long time, but I really want to get into podcasts. I just need to find the right one for me. I’d love a podcast about self-improvement, manifesting, or maybe even true crime. There’s something so cozy about sitting on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate while enjoying a new episode of your favorite podcast.

Journaling

I love journaling. It helps me stay focused on the things I love and allows me to process certain situations or feelings. I usually start my day by journaling about what I want to accomplish, and at the end of the day, I like to write about how it went. But really, you can write about anything you want. You can write about your goals, things you want to manifest, or just your thoughts and feelings. It literally doesn’t matter what you write about, just pick up a pen and let it flow.

Stretch/Yoga

Winter is the perfect season for self-care, but if you spend most of the day sitting on a chair or couch, your muscles can get stiff and tight. Stretching and yoga are great ways to loosen up your body and improve flexibility. Yoga has so many benefits and can help anyone feel better, both physically and mentally. And the best part? You don’t need a fancy or expensive yoga studio these days. Just find a fun yoga video on YouTube, roll out your mat, and give your body the relaxation it deserves.

Pamper session

Cancel all of your plans and focus on taking care of your body. Eat clean, drink plenty of water, and give yourself some pampering. Take a long shower or a hot bath, use hair and face masks to nourish your hair and skin, and paint your nails. During the colder months, your skin needs extra attention, so treat it with a rich body lotion or body butter. By the time you’re done, you’ll feel completely refreshed, like a brand-new person.

Winter has a way of slowing the world down. The days are shorter, the air is colder, and suddenly everything feels quieter. Instead of fighting that softness, winter becomes so much more magical when you lean into it and when you let the season guide you toward gentler routines, slower mornings, and habits that make life feel warm from the inside out. If you want this winter to feel calmer, cozier, and a little more meaningful, these habits are the perfect place to start.

Winter Habits That Make Life Nicer

Create a Slow Morning Ritual

Winter mornings hit differently. It is darker and the chill in the air, the urge to stay wrapped in blankets. Make it a ritual instead of a rush. Light a candle, drink something warm, open the curtains slowly, or read a few pages before touching your phone. A slow morning shapes your entire day.

Go Outside Every Day (Even for 10 Minutes)

Fresh air in winter feels crisp in the best way. A short walk, a few breaths on your balcony, or stepping outside with a warm drink can reset your mind instantly. It helps you feel less stuck inside and more connected to the season. And I know it sounds better to stay inside where it is nice and warm. But after a walk you will feel better. Just wear hats and gloves to keep yourself warm. Here in The Netherlands, we don’t get a lot of daylight during the winter, so I try to go outside during the day, especially when the sun is shining.

Romanticize Warm Drinks

Tea, hot chocolate, coffee, or whatever you love. Make it a ceremony: your favorite mug, slow sips, maybe a blanket or a playlist. It’s such a small thing, but it makes winter feel luxurious.

Keep Your Space Cozy and Tidy

You spend more time indoors during winter, so your space matters even more. Soft blankets, pillows warm lights, clean surfaces, and a little intentional tidying make your home feel like a retreat instead of a place you’re trapped in.

Read More (and Escape Into Stories)

Winter and reading go perfectly together. Getting lost in a book feels extra comforting when it’s cold outside. Choose books that feel warm, magical, or inspiring, whatever makes you want to curl up and stay awhile. It is nice to escape to a different world when it is cold outside. You can even read a summer romance, and you will feel like you’re on a vacation to a tropical island.

Practice Gentle Movement

Slow yoga, stretching, cozy pilates, or even a peaceful walk can work wonders for your mood in winter. You don’t need intense workouts, just movement that feels good and keeps your energy from dipping too low. Right now, I love to walk to the supermarket to get some groceries as my exercise. It takes an hour in total, but it feels nice to be outside and move my body.

Cook or Bake Something Simple

Warm meals make cold days feel safer. Try soup, roasted veggies, banana bread, or anything nostalgic. Cooking in winter feels grounding, like an act of care for your future self. But seriously, I am addiced to soup during the colder months. I think I could eat it several times a week. It is simple, delicious and warm.

Take Vitamin D (or Make Time for Sunlight)

Shorter days can affect your mood more than you realize. Getting sunlight when you can, or supplementing if needed, helps you feel more awake, balanced, and grounded through the season. Taking vitamin D is actually recommended if you live somewhere where the sun doesn’t shine often during the darker months. I take vitamin D as well, because the sun rarely shines.

Have Weekly “Offline Hours”

The darker months make scrolling even more tempting, but it also drains your energya lot. Choose an evening or a few hours each week to unplug completely. Read, journal, clean, play music, or rest. It feels like mental uncluttering. Just keep using your screens to a minimum. Your mental health will improve just after a few days.

Reflect More, Rush Less

Winter naturally invites you inward. Journaling, planning, dreaming, or simply sitting with your thoughts helps you reset emotionally. Use this season to connect with yourself, not pressure yourself. It’s the perfect time to make plans for the new year, reflect on yourself and your life. What has been working for you, and what do you want to do more often? Winter is the ideal season to reflect and set new goals.

It’s December, and that means a new season has officially begun. It is officially winter. Winter is my least favorite season because of the endless grey skies and the lack of sunlight. But this year, I’m trying to stay a little more positive. This winter, I’m focusing on myself: taking care of my mind and body, and making more time for fun. So this a list of things I want to do this winter.

Things I want to do this winter

Celebrate Christmas: December means the holiday season, and I am so ready for it. I love everything about this time of year and the cozy vibe that comes with it.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve: The last day of the year might be my favorite. It’s always a very cozy and lazy day. I’m going to watch some fun movies and read a bit. Instead of making a full meal, we’re going to make a charcuterie board like we do every year, eat ice cream, and snack on a few treats. At midnight we watch the fireworks, and then go to bed around 2 or 3.
Christmas Markets: December also means Christmas markets, and I’m planning to visit two this year.
Enjoy My Work-Free Weeks: From December 6 until the end of the month, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. No work. Just Christmas movies all day if I feel like it.
Walk More: I want to go for a walk every single day during my vacation, and hopefully continue the habit afterward.
Less Screen Time: I’m addicted to my phone, and it’s hard to stay off it. I’m planning a few intentional moments each day when I can check my phone for a couple of minutes.
Read a Lot: Since I want to spend less time on my phone, I’ll probably have more time to read. And during my vacation, I’ll have plenty of time for books.
Declutter: I want to get rid of things I no longer like or use. This time of year is perfect for cleaning your whole space and starting 2026 fresh.
Make a Vision Board: I do this every year. I make a vision board with Canva and use it as the wallpaper on my phone, tablet, and laptop so I see it all the time.
Create the Perfect Wardrobe: I want to go through all my clothes, donate the items I won’t wear anymore, and maybe add a few new pieces. My style has changed, and I still have items from years ago. I want more basics.
Take Winter Photos: If we’re lucky, we might get some snow. And even though I don’t love the cold, I do love how magical everything looks when the world is covered in white. I love taking photos of snowy days.
Stay Focused on My Goals: I have good and bad days, and that’s normal. But on the bad days, I often forget about my healthy new habits and slip back into the old version of myself.
Create a Gratitude Journal: I always hear people talk about keeping a gratitude journal. I want to try it and see if it actually helps my mental health.
Watch the Winter Olympics: I always love watching the Olympics. I’ll probably watch speed skating and short track because those are my favorite winter sports, but maybe I’ll try watching a few others as well.

Winter is here in all its chilly, cozy glory. While I love snuggling under blankets and sipping hot cocoa as much as the next person, this season can be rough on our skin, hair, and overall wellness. So, I thought I’d share my winter self-care routine to help you feel your best during the colder months.

Winter Self-Care

Skincare: Keep That Glow Alive

Winter air can be brutal, sucking the moisture right out of your skin. Here’s what’s been working for me:

Hydrating Cleanser: I swapped my usual foaming cleanser for a cream-based one that doesn’t strip my skin. Game changer!

Moisturize Like You Mean It: After cleansing, I slather on a thick moisturizer. Look for one with ceramides or hyaluronic acid. Oh, and don’t forget your neck—it deserves love too. And don’t forget about the rest of your body. Give your body the love it needs this winter.

SPF Every Day: Yes, even in winter! UV rays don’t take a vacation just because it’s cold.

Face Oils: I add a drop of facial oil to my moisturizer for extra hydration. It’s like a little spa moment every morning.

Lip Care: Dry, cracked lips are a no-go. I keep a nourishing lip balm in my pocket and exfoliate my lips once a week with a sugar scrub.

Haircare: Bye-Bye, Winter Frizz

My wavy hair gets super dry and frizzy during winter, so I’ve stepped up my haircare game:

Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner: Twice a week, I use a hydrating formula to keep my hair soft without over-washing.

Hair Masks: Once a week, I treat my hair to a deep-conditioning mask. It’s such a vibe—throw on your favorite playlist and let it soak in.

Leave-In Conditioner: This helps lock in moisture and tame frizz. I’ve also started using a satin pillowcase to reduce dryness and breakage.

Scalp Care: Don’t neglect your scalp! I’ve been loving a gentle scalp scrub to keep things fresh and flake-free. And massaging your scalp feels good too.

Heat Styling? Protect It!: Always use a heat protectant before blow-drying or styling. Your hair will thank you.

Wellness: Stay Cozy, Stay Healthy

Winter is all about comfort, but that doesn’t mean you can slack on taking care of yourself:

Hydration: It’s easy to forget to drink water in the cold, but your body still needs it. Herbal teas are my go-to for staying warm and hydrated. But I also bring my water bottle everywhere I go.

Movement: I’m not a fan of working out, but I love going out for walks. It’s a gentle way to stay active and reduce winter stiffness.

Nourishing Foods: Soups, stews, and roasted veggies are winter staples in my kitchen. Bonus: they’re great for your skin and overall health. Seriously, I think I can eat soup every single day.

Vitamin D: With less sunlight, I’ve been taking a vitamin D supplement. It helps keep my energy and mood up when the days are gray.

Self-Care Rituals: Winter is the perfect time to lean into cozy self-care. I’ve been journaling more, lighting candles, and reading more

Final Thoughts

Winter self-care isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling good too. Take the time to pamper yourself and listen to what your body needs. Whether it’s layering up on skincare, nourishing your hair, or just wrapping yourself in a big, soft blanket with a good book, make this season yours.

What are your go-to winter self-care tips? Let me know in the comments—I’m always looking to try new things!

Stay warm and take care! ❄️✨

Winter is here, and while the cold might tempt us to stay wrapped up in blankets all day (no judgment), it’s also the perfect time to embrace fun indoor activities that bring joy and keep the winter blues at bay. Here are some of my favorite ways to make the most of those chilly days without stepping outside!

Fun Indoor Activities

1. DIY Craft Projects

Winter is the ultimate excuse to get crafty. From creating your own candles (hello, cozy vibes!) to trying your hand at watercolor painting, the options are endless. Don’t worry about being “good” at it—it’s all about the process. Bonus points if you make cute gifts for friends. If you don’t have any inspiration at this moment, Pinterest is full of DIY crafts projects. One project is one my to-do list one day is to make a terrarium.

2. Host a Movie Marathon

There’s something magical about binge-watching movies when it’s freezing outside. Make it extra special by picking a theme—90s rom-coms, fantasy adventures, or feel-good classics. Add a hot chocolate bar with marshmallows, whipped cream, and Pizza to complete the experience. I have my weekly movie nights and I love them. I make it extra cozy, get some snacks, and enjoy the movie. It is one thing I look forward to.

3. Cook or Bake Something New

Winter is basically baking season. Try making homemade bread (it’s easier than you think and smells amazing) or experiment with fun desserts like cookies or cupcakes. If baking isn’t your thing, whip up a comforting winter soup or stew. You might just discover your new favorite recipe. Plus: if you make soup or stew, you will also get warm from the inside.

4. Create a Mini Spa Day

Transform your space into a sanctuary with a DIY spa day. Light some candles, play soothing music, and indulge in face masks, a bubble bath, or even an at-home manicure. It’s a perfect way to relax and recharge. You deserve a moment for yourself. It doesn’t have to be a whole day, even one or two hours can recharge your battery.

5. Learn Something New

Winter feels like the ideal time to pick up a new hobby or skill. Learn to play that instrument you’ve been eyeing (my ukulele is finally getting some love this year) or take an online course in something you’ve always wanted to explore. Another thing I might want to learn is hula hooping. I’ve never been able to do it as a kid. I was not good at it. But there are hula hoops for fitness these days and I know someone who hula hoops while watching TV. This way you exercise and watch something fun.

6. Board Games or Puzzle Night

Whether it’s a solo puzzle challenge or a board game battle with friends, this is such a fun way to pass the time. Bonus: You might discover a new favorite game that has become a winter tradition. Here in the Netherlands, I know Hitster is very popular. I think it is a game for everyone who loves music and who doesn’t love music.

7. Create an Indoor Picnic

Who says picnics are only for sunny days? Spread out a blanket, pack some snacks, and have a picnic right in your living room. Add fairy lights and some cozy pillows for extra charm.

8. Get Lost in a Good Book

There’s no better time to dive into a new book (or an entire series) than when it’s cold outside. Pair it with a warm drink, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a cozy day. I am obsessed with reading these days. It is only 6 January and I am already my third book of the year. But it doesn’t matter how fast or slow you read. Reading is just fun. You can enter a whole new world and forget about reality for a second.

9. Do a Closet or Space Makeover

Winter is great for decluttering or redecorating. Tackle that closet you’ve been avoiding or rearrange a room for a fresh vibe. It’s surprisingly satisfying and makes your space feel brand new. You can go through your closet and donate or sell everything you don’t want anymore. You can probably make someone else happy with it.

10. Plan Your Dream Life

Grab your journal or Pinterest account and start planning your dream life. Vision boards, goal setting, or simply daydreaming—it’s a creative and uplifting way to spend a snowy afternoon. Pinterest is my favorite social media platform. I think I could spend hours on Pinterest, just saving photos.

So, the next time winter has you stuck inside, give one of these activities a try. Who knows? You might discover a new favorite pastime. What are your go-to indoor activities? Let me know—I’m always looking for fresh ideas to try!

Stay cozy,

Ah, the days are getting shorter, the nights longer, and that cozy autumn vibe is settling in. While some of us love this time of year (hello, pumpkin spice everything), others might find it a bit tricky to navigate mentally. The darker days can sometimes bring on feelings of low energy or even a touch of the winter blues. But don’t worry! I’ve got you covered with a few tips to keep your mental health in check as we say goodbye to the long summer days.

Tips for Maintaining Your Mental Health as Days Get Shorter

1. Soak Up Any Sun You Can Get

Even though daylight is limited, it’s super important to make the most of it! Try to get outside for at least 10–15 minutes during the brightest part of the day, whether it’s for a walk, a coffee break, or just sitting by a window. Natural light helps regulate your body’s production of serotonin (your happy hormone!) and melatonin (your sleepy hormone), so even a little exposure can make a difference.

2. Move Your Body

I know, I know. When it’s cold and dark outside, the last thing you want to do is work out. But moving your body is a game-changer for mental health. Whether it’s yoga, dancing around your living room, or hitting the gym, physical activity releases endorphins that help lift your mood. Bonus points if you can combine this with tip #1 and get outside!

3. Create a Cozy Space

If we’re going to be spending more time indoors, why not make it as cozy and uplifting as possible? Think blankets, candles, warm lighting, and whatever makes you feel safe and happy. Having a comfortable, inviting space to relax in can help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

4. Stick to a Routine

As the seasons change, it’s easy to fall out of your usual routine, but having structure can be super grounding. Try to wake up at the same time, plan your meals, and schedule little self-care breaks throughout your day. Even something as simple as making your bed in the morning can set a positive tone. Waking up at the same time every day might not be the easiest thing when it is still dark outside, but eventually, you will feel better if you stick to the same routine.

5. Stay Connected

It’s easy to retreat into your little bubble when it’s cold and dark out, but don’t forget about your people! Whether it’s a quick chat with a friend, a virtual hangout, or a weekend get-together, staying connected is key. Social interactions can boost your mood and help you feel more supported.

6. Try a Light Therapy Lamp

If you really struggle with shorter days, a light therapy lamp could be your new best friend. These lamps mimic natural sunlight and can help boost your mood and energy levels. Just 20–30 minutes a day can make a world of difference for some people.

7. Prioritize Rest & Sleep

With the darker evenings, you might find yourself feeling more tired than usual. Instead of fighting it, listen to your body! Use the opportunity to prioritize rest and improve your sleep hygiene. Turn off screens an hour before bed, wind down with a good book, and let your body recharge. Journal when you feel you are overthinking everything before bed. Journaling helps to slow down your thoughts.

8. Do Something Creative

Darker days can sometimes feel a little repetitive, so why not shake things up by exploring your creative side? Whether it’s drawing, writing, cooking, or even experimenting with your style (new makeup? cool TikTok content?), doing something creative can give you a mental boost and keep things fun. Trying something new can also help. Maybe you want to try a new recipe or hobby. It can be anything.

9. Practice Gratitude

It can be easy to focus on what’s not going well during the colder months, but practicing gratitude is a great way to shift your mindset. Every day, try to write down three things you’re thankful for, big or small. This simple habit can really help train your brain to focus on the positive.

10. Seek Professional Help if You Need It

Lastly, if the winter blues hit hard, don’t be afraid to reach out for help. There’s no shame in talking to a therapist or counselor if you’re feeling overwhelmed or down. Sometimes just having a safe space to talk things out can be incredibly healing.

Final Thoughts

The change in seasons can definitely have an impact on your mental health, but with a few mindful practices, you can keep those vibes high all year long. So go ahead, sip that hot cocoa, snuggle up in your favorite blanket, and take care of yourself—you deserve it!

Let’s get through these shorter days together! 💛

Hey there, fellow winter skeptics! Are you someone who sees snowflakes falling and immediately starts dreaming of tropical beaches? Well, fear not! Winter might not be your go-to season, but let me share a few reasons why it can be an unexpectedly fun and cozy time of the year. I am mostly writing this blog post for myself. Right now, there is a lot of snow outside and it is cold. I am trying to stay positive. But I wanted to share this with you as well, because I have the feeling I am not the only one who prefers the warmer seasons. So hopefully, this blog post will also help you to stay positive and maybe even you start to learn how to enjoy winter.

How to Enjoy Winter

Warm Blankets and Comfy Clothes: Let’s start with the basics – winter is the ultimate excuse to bundle up in your coziest blankets and rock that oversized sweater you’ve been hiding in the back of your closet. Embrace the snug life, my friends! It is the perfect excuse to start shopping for warmer items like blankets and sweaters. I honestly love using blankets on the couch or when I am sitting in my chair. It makes it a lot more cozy. And warmer clothing items don’t have to look ugly. Use Pinterest to find some inspiration to look comfy and warm while still looking hot.

Hot Chocolate Heaven: Who can resist the allure of a steaming cup of hot chocolate topped with marshmallows? Winter is the time to indulge your taste buds with this liquid bliss. Bonus points if you enjoy it by the fireplace, wrapped up like a burrito. Is there anything better than coming home from a long walk or work/school day and drinking some hot chocolate? I think not. Also, tea is a great way to warm yourself up once you get home again.

Netflix and Chill Takes on a Whole New Meaning: While summer might be for outdoor activities, winter is the season to become a master at binge-watching. Catch up on all the shows and movies you’ve been neglecting and turn your living room into the ultimate cozy cave. Put blankets on the couch, put some snacks on the table, hot chocolate, and have a movie night with your friends. And on a snowy day, binge-watch your favorite new series.

Winter Sports: Admittedly, winter sports might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s a certain thrill to trying something new. Whether it’s ice skating, skiing, or snowboarding, give it a shot – you might discover a hidden talent! There are even certain things you can do inside. You don’t have to travel to a country where you can enjoy winter sports. Find an ice rink and have a hot chocolate when you’re done.

The Joy of Comfort Food: Winter is the perfect excuse to indulge in hearty, comfort foods. From soups and stews to casseroles and pies, the colder months are tailor-made for satisfying your taste buds with warm, delicious meals. Here in the Netherlands, we basically eat mashed potatoes mixed with veggies (carrots/onions, kale, or endive) all the time during the colder months. Those are the perfect meals to stay warm and get cozy.

Fireside Chats: There’s something magical about gathering around a fireplace, sharing stories, and sipping on a warm beverage. Whether it’s with family or friends, winter nights by the fire create memories that are sure to warm your heart. And if you don’t have a fireplace, you can easily find a fake fireplace video on Netflix or YouTube. It might not be the same, but it is better than nothing.

Magical Winter Scenery: Snow-covered landscapes have a unique charm that can’t be denied. The world transforms into a winter wonderland, and if you can look past the chilly temperatures, you’ll find beauty in the glistening snow and frost-kissed trees. Take photos when you are outside. The lighting in a winter wonderland is always really good. And even I can appreciate how beautiful the world looks when it is covered in snow.

Cozy Reading Nooks: Winter is the ideal time to get lost in a good book. Create a cozy reading nook with soft blankets, a plush chair, and a hot cup of tea. Transport yourself to different worlds without ever leaving the comfort of your home. It is the perfect moment to read the books you’ve always wanted to read. During the summer, you probably want to go out and do other things outside. So winter is the perfect season to get some reading done.

Cuddling Weather: Winter practically demands snuggling up with your favorite person – be it a partner, pet, or even a giant stuffed animal. The colder temperatures make cuddling a must, and who can argue with that?

So, there you have it, winter skeptics – a few reasons why the colder months can be surprisingly enjoyable. Embrace the season, find your winter groove, and remember, there’s a certain magic in the chill! And remember, we can’t change the weather, so it is better to embrace it and make the most of it.

Hey winter warriors! As the temperature drops and the snow starts falling, it’s time to gear up and embrace the chilly vibes. Whether you’re a snow bunny or more of a hibernator like me, having the right essentials can make all the difference in turning winter from a frozen ordeal to a cozy wonderland. So, grab a mug of hot cocoa, wrap yourself in a fuzzy blanket, and let’s dive into the winter essentials you need this winter to keep yourself warm and cozy.

Winter Essentials You Need This Winter

1. Snuggle-Worthy Threads: The first rule of winter survival? Layers, layers, layers. Invest in a killer insulated winter coat that makes you feel like a snow queen or king. Throw on some thermal or fleece-lined everything – shirts, pants, socks – you name it. And let’s not forget the hat, gloves, and scarf combo – because frostbite is so last season.

2. Boot Up for Battle: You can’t conquer winter without the right footwear. Snag yourself a pair of insulated, waterproof boots to keep those tootsies toasty. Add some warm, moisture-wicking socks, and you’re ready to stomp through snowbanks like a boss. You don’t want to end up with cold and wet feet while it is freezing outside.

3. Winter Wonderland at Home: Turn your humble abode into a cozy retreat. Invest in a heater or embrace the crackling warmth of a fireplace. Don’t forget to hang up those insulated curtains and draft stoppers for that fortress of warmth effect. Buy a heating blanket to keep yourself warm at night. Buy a hot water bottle for those days when you spend a lot of time in the freezing cold. Buy the comfiest and warmest socks you can find to keep your feet and toes warm at all times.

4. Winter Extras: Prepare for the unexpected with hand warmers and an ice scraper for your ride. Need to clear your driveway? Grab a snow shovel and show that snow who’s boss. If you have to walk and it is really cold, buy those reusable hand warmers.

5. Wellness Warriors: Combat the winter sniffles with cold and flu meds, load up on vitamin D, and keep your skin in check with some top-notch moisturizing lotion. The air in the colder months is a lot drier, which means you have to stay moisturized. Buy lip balm, buy body lotions or body butter, buy hair masks. Find anything that keeps your body moisturized.

9. Indoor Chill: For those days when it’s just too darn cold to venture out, stock up on books, movies, or games for some indoor entertainment. Because winter’s not so bad when you’re snuggled up with a good book and a cup of tea. Start baking to keep the house and yourself warm. Create movie nights, or pick a few good books at the library or at the thrift store and read them all. Invite your friends for dinner parties.

10. Keep It Chill: Remember, winter is what you make of it. Embrace the season, find joy in the little things, and create your own happiness. If you don’t like the winter as much, you have two options. Complain all day about how cold and dark it is or you can create fun little moments. Plan lots of fun things. Go outside once in a while and when you come home you warm yourself up with a hot chocolate drink and a blanket while you watch a movie. You can’t change the weather, so it is better to accept it and make the most of it.

So, there you have it – your winter survival kit for a season filled with chilly adventures and cozy moments. Now, go forth, brave the cold, and make this winter your most epic one yet! Stay warm, stay cool, and let the winter wonder unfold. ❄️✨

The post Winter Essentials You Need This Winter first appeared on A happy life.
