Trevor Bingley is back! He now lives alone in the middle of nowhere. He desperately needs money because he just lost his job after seven months and wants to pay for his daughter’s tuition. When the Housesitters company calls him with a new house-sitting job, he remembers that the last time didn’t go very well (Man vs Bee). But when he hears how much money he’s going to make, he’s in.

The only problem? He just found a baby and he has to take him with him.

Review

I was so excited when I saw the trailer when it was announced. I loved Man vs Baby, it was absolutely hilarious. And now Rowan Atkinson is back, but this time it’s just him and a baby he suddenly finds. To be honest, I thought it was going to be a movie. I think I was searching for new Christmas movies when this popped up. But it turned out to be a series with four episodes of around 30 minutes each, so technically it could have been a movie.

I grew up watching Mr Bean. I loved rewatching those episodes over and over again. According to Google, there are only 15 episodes of Mr Bean. Back then, I really thought there were way more. I loved the humor, and Man vs Baby has that same kind of humor. The only difference is that Rowan Atkinson’s character actually speaks in this series. Mr Bean rarely spoke. But he still has the same facial expressions, which work perfectly for this show.

Trevor Bingley has to house-sit a beautiful penthouse apartment. This apartment is pure luxury, and everything in it is expensive, so you can already imagine what could go wrong. One scene that made me laugh out loud was in the last episode, when he’s shopping for Christmas dinner.

I also loved that this series has some really beautiful moments. Even though everything keeps going wrong, Trevor Bingley has a good heart. By the end, he helps several people he’s just met, and I thought that was a lovely message to include. It felt perfect for the holiday season.

The only problem I had was that it was way too short. I definitely wanted more. I need this kind of silly humor sometimes. It’s nice to just laugh and not think about anything for a while. This series was perfect for taking my mind off things. I think it’s the perfect holiday watch, especially if you grew up watching Mr Bean.

Review

I was so excited to see Miranda Cosgrove in a movie again. It’s been a while since I last saw her in one. I used to watch iCarly all the time when I was younger. I know she’s been in quite a few movies and shows over the past couple of years, but I haven’t watched those. And since I always love a good cheesy romcom, I was super excited to watch this one.

The characters were fun. The other women competing were a bit over the top, and they each represented different stereotypes: the tough girl, the mean girl, the flirty girl. But that’s what made it so entertaining. At times, it was pure chaos and I loved it.

The setting was gorgeous too. Sure, Paris, France is beautiful (and I love that city), but if you know me, you probably know I have a thing for cowboys, hot cowboys. So this was the perfect mix for me, which definitely added bonus points. And of course, this is the perfect movie for people who love watching dating reality shows like The Bachelor. I don’t watch regular television anymore, but now I’m honestly curious if The Bachelor is just as crazy as this movie. Probably not.

As for the story itself, this is where it gets tricky to explain. The movie was kind of weird and even a little bad… but at the same time, I loved it. You know how some cringey movies are so bad they’re hard to watch? This one was a little cringe, but in the best way, but still so much fun. I laughed several times, the wild characters were fun to watch, and there were some genuinely funny jokes.

This is the perfect movie for when you just want to have a good time. Don’t expect anything outstanding or award-worthy—just watch it with an open mind and enjoy it for what it is. I really had a great time watching, and it’s been a while since a movie actually made me laugh out loud. This genre is exactly what I love—cheesy (maybe even a little terrible) romcoms. I need more movies like this, and honestly, I think I’ll rewatch it in the future.

I love kpop music. Okay, I mostly listen to Blackpink, but every now and then I also listen to other kpop artists/groups. I also love watching k-drama, so it would make sense that I would watch this animation movie right? At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to watch it. Then I saw others liking this movie and I also saw that the actor from ‘Business Proposal’ is the voice actor of Juni in this movie.

I don’t watch a lot of animation films to be honest. Although, I am going to watch Lilo & Stich (the animation version) very soon. It is a shame I still haven’t watched that movie. Anyway, I still decided to give this a try and wow, this movie was so cool and amazing.

Let’s talk about the things I liked about this movie. First of all, the music in this movie is incredible. I loved every single song in this one and I even had to look up if the songs were available on Spotify and yes they are available! The songs were definitely giving me kpop vibes and I loved it. One song I even recognized from the Business proposal. It was the song ‘Love, maybe’ by Melomance.

The visuals were incredible, the cast is wonderful and likable. I loved the friendship between the three girls. All three girls have different personalities, but they work so good together. And sometimes it was even funny.

Yes, I can definitely recommend this movie. Even when you are not into K-pop at all. It was a fun movie. It is not too long. It was just the perfect length. There are a lot of reviews on IMDB for this movie and most of them want a sequel and I have to agree with them. Or I would even be okay with a similar movie with different characters. This was a fun watch.

A few years ago, I remember watching a TV show where couples bought one-euro houses and completely renovated them. I really enjoyed it, so naturally, I had to watch this movie too.

There were so many things I loved about this film. First, they actually speak both Italian and English, which I really appreciate. It seems like Netflix has made it a tradition to produce at least one or two movies a year set in a European country where they use the local language. I always enjoy those! The only thing that slightly bothered me was that Eric, the father, learned Italian but would still randomly switch to English at times.

The setting was absolutely beautiful—a charming small town in Italy that gave off such strong spring and summer vibes. That was exactly what I needed since the past few days have been freezing with lots of snow. Watching this made me even more excited for warmer weather.

The characters were likable, and the acting turned out to be pretty good. I had my doubts in the first few minutes, but that quickly faded. My absolute favorites were the old ladies who sat by the fountain every single day—especially since they were all named Antonia!

The storyline was heartwarming. The father and daughter grow closer, and both have their own love stories. It’s a sweet, feel-good romantic movie. My only complaint is that I wish we had seen more of Olivia’s love story. A few extra scenes would have been nice since most of the focus was on Eric finding love again after losing his wife.

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. It’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted rom-com that will transport you straight to a dreamy Italian summer. And as a bonus, the Italian language adds to the charm—I don’t speak it, but it sounds so beautiful!

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, of course, I had to watch a new rom-com. I went in with zero expectations, especially after seeing a post on Threads where someone mentioned they had high hopes but ended up disappointed. I usually try to avoid other people’s opinions before watching a movie so I can form my own, but this time, Threads practically shoved it in my face.

Now that I’ve seen it, I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed, but would I watch it again? Probably not. The plot itself had a lot of potential—it was a fun and interesting concept—but the execution fell flat. There were definitely some enjoyable and funny moments, but overall, I’d rate it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Some of the highlights? The little kid, Connor, finds out the pregnancy is fake, and Lainy tries to keep him quiet—that was a great scene. The romance storyline was solid, and I loved seeing Brianne Howey in this. She brought great energy to the film. As for the acting, it wasn’t bad at all—I’ve seen much worse.

But then there were those moments. The cringy, over-the-top scenes made me physically uncomfortable. There’s a fine line between a funny joke and secondhand embarrassment, and this movie crossed it a few times. I get that making a genuinely good rom-com is tough—it’s been a while since we’ve had a really great one—but some of the humor here just didn’t land.

I’ve definitely seen worse movies, but by the end, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’d wasted my time. It had the potential to be great, but some of the jokes dragged it down. That said, at least I went in with zero expectations—so I guess I can’t be too let down. But would I recommend it? Probably not. I would recommend reading a good book instead and not wasting your time, I already did that for you, so I could write this movie review.

Review

I was pretty excited to see Cameron Diaz back on screen. According to her IMDb page, her last project was in 2014—over ten years ago! She’s always been one of my favorite actresses, and I’m thrilled to see her return. Hopefully, this is just the start, and we’ll see her in more films—maybe even a rom-com.

Action movies aren’t usually my favorite genre. I tend to find them unimpressive or just end up watching bad ones. I was also a little hesitant when I saw this movie’s runtime—it’s around two hours, which felt a bit long going in.

The first part of the movie was easily my favorite. It kicked off with action-packed scenes and then transitioned to a flash-forward, fifteen years later, where Matt and Emily are living as regular people raising two teenagers. I thought it was both interesting and funny that their kids had no idea about their parents’ former lives as CIA spies. The way Matt and Emily still used their spy skills in parenting was an amusing touch.

The acting was, of course, excellent. What else would you expect from Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx? They’re both fantastic performers. On a side note, I have to give Jamie Foxx credit for his resilience. Considering his recent health struggles with a brain bleed and a stroke—having to relearn basic functions like walking—it’s incredible that he came back to finish the film. Truly impressive.

That said, those were the only highlights for me. The rest of the movie felt dull and predictable. I honestly wanted to turn it off and do something else. I also found the English stereotypes in the movie odd and unnecessary. Not every English person drinks tea and gin all the time, and they’re certainly not cold and unfriendly. I’ve been to England, and the people I met were so warm and welcoming.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly action movie, this one might be okay. But as an adult who just wanted to be entertained, it fell flat. The performances were great, and the first part of the film held my interest, but it went downhill quickly after that. The storyline was uninspired, and I kept hoping for something fresh or unexpected to happen—but it didn’t. I also think the runtime didn’t help; a shorter movie might have been more engaging.

Overall, it felt like a waste of time. I wanted more originality, more surprises—just more of something. Unfortunately, this movie didn’t deliver.

Cathy lost her husband not too long ago and now she is just surviving the days. One night, she puts a scarf around the neck of a snowman. The next day, she finds a man outside who claims to be a snowman. The snowman magically turns into a human being and his presence is healing Cathy. Suddenly she is starting to feel better and starts to believe that she can fall in love again. There is one problem. Jack (the snowman) is always feeling hot inside the buildings and he is afraid that he is going to melt very soon.

Review

Let’s start by saying I was expecting a typical Hallmark vibes kind of movie. I’ve seen bits of the trailer and wasn’t convinced that this would be a great movie. Sometimes movies like these can be a bit cringe. The storywriting isn’t always that good. Sometimes it is just too awkward to watch. So I had zero expectations for this movie, but honestly, it was a lot better than I had expected.

Okay, there were some cringe moments towards the ending when he was sort of melting. But other than that, this movie wasn’t that bad. I honestly, enjoyed watching this movie. Sure, the movie title is a little bit weird maybe. Because now it sounds like it’s a porn movie. But it is not, thank god. There were quite a few moments that made me laugh so hard. I think Dustin was the right person to be the snowman. He didn’t make this movie too awkward with those jokes. Of course, the best moment in this movie is when Cathy (Lacey Chabert) makes a Mean Girls reference when Lindsay Lohan’s Christmas movie from last year was on TV. That was just hilarious.

There was chemistry between the main characters. I think they were great together. Without the chemistry, the movie would have been just a boring movie honestly. I loved how hilarious Jack (the snowman) was at some moments. There was one moment when Cathy was eating a Christmas cookie and she bit a piece of the snowman’s head off. And the look on Jack’s face was just priceless. And I loved the golden Sheriff’s duo, Ed and Nathaniel. If you’ve ever watched Brooklynn 99, you are going to love this because they are actually Charles Boyle and Doug Judy from that show and they are just amazing in this movie. That was one of the reasons why I was so excited to see this movie.

I could definitely see myself watching this again. Most of the time, the romance movies on Netflix are just okay but I never want to watch them again. There is one other movie (Holidate) that I actually liked and I still watch it sometimes. Hot Frosty is definitely a great movie to watch again during the holidays. I had a great time watching this movie. I saw a lot of mixed reviews on the IMDB and on social media, but honestly, I think it is one of the best Romance Christmas movies Netflix has ever made (besides Holidate). So I can highly recommend this movie.

But it won’t be easy; she must stop the killer without disrupting the timeline.

Review

Last year, I watched Totally Killer and really enjoyed it. I’m not the biggest fan of horror movies, but that one was just right. While watching Time Cut recently, I realized it was strikingly similar to Totally Killer, even down to the masks. I thought perhaps Totally Killer was a huge success for Amazon Prime, and Netflix wanted to capture that same vibe. However, after doing some research, I found out that Time Cut was actually filmed a year before Totally Killer. It made me wonder why Netflix didn’t release it sooner.

Both movies share a similar storyline: a girl finds a time machine, travels to the past, and tries to stop a serial killer. However, there are a few differences. In Time Cut, the protagonist goes back to 2003, trying to save her sister, while in Totally Killer, the main character travels to 1987 to save her mother.

In my opinion, the time machine in Totally Killer was much cooler—it was set up as a photo booth, which I thought was a fun touch. The time machine in Time Cut, however, was just two steel boxes and felt a bit lackluster by comparison. I also preferred Kiernan Shipka as the lead. It was great to see Madison Bailey (Outer Banks) and Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia) together, but I enjoyed Kiernan’s energy just a bit more.

Seeing Totally Killer’s version of 1987 was interesting, but it was before I was born. I preferred Time Cut for its early 2000s setting, which took me back to when I was 10 or 11. The early 2000s nostalgia was great, and it brought back so many memories of that era.

If I could merge elements of both movies, I think it would be the perfect watch. There was just one thing that bugged me in Time Cut: Lucy was much taller than Summer, yet somehow fit into her clothes perfectly. It’s a little detail, but it always bothers me when movies overlook this kind of realism.

As I mentioned, I’m not a fan of horror or excessive gore. IMDb categorizes Time Cut as a horror movie, but I didn’t find it particularly scary. It’s more of a fun thriller with minimal blood and gore, so it was a good choice for me to watch during Halloween. I didn’t think it was a bad movie at all—it’s just that I couldn’t help comparing it to Totally Killer.

Overall, Time Cut wasn’t bad, but I slightly preferred Totally Killer because of the details that set it apart. I’d recommend watching Time Cut if you haven’t seen Totally Killer yet—unless you’re up for comparing the two. Because I saw Totally Killer first, Time Cut felt a bit predictable. I think it would have been more exciting if I hadn’t already seen the other movie. Still, it’s a great watch for those who don’t like too much blood and want a movie with early 2000s vibes.

Uglies

In this world, everyone is considered ugly until they get their extreme cosmetic surgery when they turn 16. After that you become pretty and you live in a beautiful world. Tally (Joey King) is still 15 and she can’t wait until she gets pretty. She already knows what color of eyes and hair she wants. One day she becomes friends with another Ugly named Shay. She has the same birthday as Tally and will get her surgery soon as well. But there is a rumor going around in the world of uglies. Apparently there is a guy named David who doesn’t agree with Pretties society. He is trying to convince people not to get the surgery, to join their group, and age naturally. Now, Shay is trying to convince Tally that getting the surgery is ridiculous.

Review

When I saw the trailer for this movie a few weeks ago, I got pretty excited. I couldn’t wait to watch this movie. I am not going to say that Joey King is my favorite actress, but somehow I always end up watching her movies. I’ve seen her in The Kissing Booth, which was definitely not the best trilogy ever. The movies she plays in are just okay.

But I was mostly excited about this movie because it is a book-to-movie adaption and it kind of reminded me of Divergent and maybe a little bit of The Hunger Games. In a sense, they are all the same. You have a female main character who suddenly realizes what is going and she becomes a rebel and is trying to change the world for the better. And yes, apparently I love those kinds of movies. This movie definitely gave me those Divergent vibes.

But I think this movie also has a deeper meaning. If you don’t get the surgery in this movie, you are considered ugly and when you change your face, you are suddenly pretty. These days young women (and men) are getting surgery at a very young age because they think it will make them prettier. They get lip fillers, botox, and more. You see in Hollywood nobody wants to age and get wrinkles. So I would say that this movie is not far off from the real world we live in.

I kind of have to admit that this movie didn’t impress me that much. I liked it, but I am not sure if I will remember it at the end of the year. But to be honest, I am not even sure if I will remember any of the movies I’ve seen so far. Most of the shots in this movie were very dark, except for the part where Tally entered the world of the Pretties.

I think it would have been better if they actually had cast a teenager for this movie. Joey King is 25 years old and she is supposed to be a 15-year-old. I also think that Shay (Brianne Tju) was my favorite character in this movie. To be honest, she was the true rebel who decided to go against society’s rules and not get the surgery. She had to convince Tally to come with her and join David’s group.

I read the reviews on IMDB and honestly, I did not think that this movie was that bad. Some people are saying that this is the worst movie ever. I mean, I still sort of enjoyed it and there was constantly something happening, so I did not get bored. The length of the movie was just right. After watching this movie, I want to read the books in this series. I think there are four books in total. I want to find out if the books are even better. Most of the time they are.

And in case, you did like this movie, then I will have good news. As I mentioned there are four books in this series and the movie ended with a plot twist. So I think there will be another movie next year or so. Although, I think it is kind of crazy to think about the fact that Joey King will be almost 30 if they release one movie every single year. A 25-year-old woman playing a 15/16-year-old girl is already crazy, so imagine a 30-year-old woman pretending to be a teenager. It will never be believable. That is why I think they should have cast new talent and someone younger.

Overall, I thought that this movie was okay. I sort of enjoyed it. It wasn’t the worst movie I’ve seen this year. And this movie made me want to read the books. So I think the outcome of watching this movie is pretty positive. But I wonder if Netflix will continue with these movies. Netflix is known for canceling everything, but I secretly hope that they will make the movies.

Review

One thing I’ve learned in school about giving feedback is that you always start with the positive things and then you talk about the negative things. Honestly, it’s not easy to find something good about this movie. I love romance books/movies. It’s what makes me happy. So when I saw the trailer for a new romance movie, I got excited. Well, the setting in this movie is beautiful. Cyprus is so beautiful and it was nice to see a movie with beautiful scenery. It kind of reminds me of the movie (Faraway) from last year. In both movies, they speak English but also their native language and it takes place in a European country. I really liked ‘Faraway’. But Find Me Falling not so much.

First of all the acting was a bit meh. Not terrible, but also not great. I only knew Harry Connick Jr. from one other romance movie (New in Town). I don’t think I’ve seen him in other movies. The actors were unknown to me, but I am not the biggest fan of their acting. The woman who plays Sia wasn’t convincing enough. I also didn’t care about any of the characters, except Melina. I kind of liked her vibe.

Then the next reason why I didn’t like this movie. In romance movies there always should be chemistry between the main characters. I mean, what is romance without chemistry? It’s just boring. I want to see and feel the chemistry. But there wasn’t any chemistry between the two. They could have been a best friend. Honestly, I think there was even more chemistry between John and Melina, which was kind of weird considering their relationship.

On IMDB, it says that the genres of this movie are Romance and Comedy. I am still looking for the comedy part. I am now wondering if the suicide backstory is supposed to be funny. I hope not. This movie did not make me laugh at all. Even better: this movie didn’t make me feel anything. It is also kind of weird to have a suicide backstory in a romance movie. Very interesting combination.

I appreciate that Netflix is releasing these movies that include other cultures, food, and music. That is what I loved the most about this one. But overall this movie felt flat. No chemistry, and a weird backstory. I really hope that streaming platforms are going to put more effort into making (romance) movies again. Although, recently I watched ‘The Idea of You‘ and that one was pretty great. But I wouldn’t recommend ‘Find Me Falling’ to anyone. The only reason I am giving it two hearts is Cyprus.
