Totally Killer
Thirty-five years ago a person killed three 16-year-old girls in a small town and now he is back. The latest victim is Pam Hughes and now 17-year-old Jamie travels back to 1987 to find the killer and stop him before making any victims. Since she is coming from the future, she thinks she knows what is going to happen, but because she is time traveling and changing a couple of things, it also changes the timeline. This makes it harder to find the killer and prevent him from killing the girls. Can Jamie stop the killer and save her mother from the killer in the future?
Review
I came across this movie on TikTok and it seemed fun. I also loved Julie Bowen in Modern Family and Kiernan Shipka in Sabrina. I love their energies. So even though, I had no idea what this movie was exactly about, I knew I had to watch it.
Let’s start by saying that I am definitely not a big fan of horror movies and those dark movies. I prefer to watch happy movies or maybe drama movies. I like to watch a movie with a happy ending and movies that make me feel good. I only saw a small part of this movie on TikTok and I still had no idea what the movie was about, because I never like to watch the trailer before watching the whole movie. But even though there is a serial killer and you can see blood, it did not scare me off.
I honestly liked this movie. Halloween is approaching and this is the kind of movie I like to watch around Halloween. I always try to watch Halloween movies that aren’t actually that scary. Netflix had also one of those non-scary Halloween movies (Hubie Halloween) years ago, also starring Julie Bowen.
First of all, the actors were great. They did not let me down and I am not sure if I had expectations before watching this movie, but I think it was better than I was expecting. I actually enjoyed watching this movie. Jamie goes back to 1987 and sure I wasn’t born yet but it was so fun to watch it. Those outfits, the music, the lifestyle, and everything. I loved how Jamie was shocked about how wild the 80’s were. Nobody really cared what you were doing and they did not care about privacy. It was so easy for Jamie the find the right people without receiving questions. I really liked the aspect of this movie. The killing is just a small part of it. I loved how Jamie made comments about sexism, and racism or was talking about technology from the future.
And the plot twist was amazing as well! The thing is with these kinds of movies, you also trying to solve this case and you think about who the killer is, but then the plot twists and you just do not see it coming. Although, every time it makes 100% sense.
I think this is the perfect movie for people who are also not the biggest fan of scary movies that make you jump. This movie did not make me jump at all. It was just a relaxing and fun movie. So it is not for children, but it is definitely a great movie for a fun Halloween movie night.
