Meet Me Next Christmas
Last year, Layla met a wonderful man at the airport. At the time, she was in a happy relationship, but they made a deal: if both of them were single by next Christmas, they’d meet again at the Pentatonix concert. For the next 11 to 12 months, Layla didn’t think about him—until, just a few days before Christmas, she discovered her boyfriend cheating on her. Now, she’s determined to do whatever it takes to get tickets to the Pentatonix concert and see her dream man again. However, with the concert sold out, she hired someone to help her secure those tickets.
Review
It’s that time of year again, and I’m loving it! I adore romance movies and Christmas movies, so the two combined is just perfection—well, most of the time. I watch a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies, and while not all of them are hits, this one was charming and romantic.
The chemistry between the main characters was definitely there, and they were both quite likable. The cast overall is great, and the actors did a good job bringing the story to life. I enjoyed watching the leads work together to get those tickets, and I thought it was sweet that they were doing everything as a team. The movie gave me all the Christmas vibes I was hoping for, which is essential in a holiday movie.
However, I did have one issue. If Layla was truly happy in her relationship, why did she drop everything to pursue a man she met just once? If someone were really happy in a relationship, wouldn’t they be devastated first? But as soon as she finds out her boyfriend is cheating, she immediately moves on. That was my biggest issue with the movie.
That said, when you watch a movie like this, you can’t expect too much. Even with a strong cast, it’s really just a fun, cheesy Christmas movie. It’s perfect for escaping reality for a little while. Thankfully, it wasn’t overly cringy like some holiday romances can be. I also loved seeing Christina Milian in another Netflix movie!
Overall, Meet Me Next Christmas was a delightful Christmas rom-com. If you’re a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, you might enjoy this one too. It’s cute, and sweet, has real chemistry between the leads, and gives off that cozy Christmas vibe, making it perfect for the season.
