Love and Other Flight Delays
Love and Other Flight Delays is a collection of three short stories about finding love at the airport.
The Love Connection
An airport pet groomer meets her frequent-flier crush and finds herself in a fake dating situation with a professional risk assessor who moonlights as a romance author.
The Missed Connection
Two strangers share a romantic night only to discover months later that they’re professional rivals about to embark on an extended business trip together in this grumpy-meets-sunshine romance.
The Sweetest Connection
Two best friends have one week to return a lost love letter found in a candy store at the airport—and work up the courage to confess the deep feelings between them—before one of them leaves the country.
Review
When I decided to read this book, I didn’t do any research. Sometimes I still read what the book is about, but most of the time I like to surprise myself. I mostly read books that other people recommend on social media and yes I judge a book by its cover as well. If the cover is cute and pretty, I will probably read it. But because I did not read what the book was about, I had no idea this book contains three stories, well maybe four love stories if you include the epilogue as well.
I’ve heard several stories about people finding love at the airport or on the plane, so I found this super cute. All of the three (or four) stories are connected because they work at the airport or because they are related/friends. The first couple from the first story were also mentioned in the other stories. I thought that was cute. All of the love stories don’t happen at the same time though. In the second story, you can read that the first couple are happy together and getting married.
My favorite story was the first story, The Love Connection, and I think it was smart to open with that story. Their love story had a meet-cute and then they started fake dating. But I liked this one the most because it included dogs, and he was an author and I think men who read and/or write are super attractive The second story is an enemies-to-lovers story and the last story is a friends-to-lovers story.
I think this would be the PERFECT book to read when you are going on a vacation and you have to fly a few hours to get there. And it is so perfect to read this while traveling because the stories are short, but the chapters are also very short. Which I always love. I really prefer reading a book with very short chapters over long chapters. It is just easier to read books with shorter chapters. I never want to stop in the middle of a chapter, but if your book has 20-30 pages chapters, you sometimes have no choice.
I can highly recommend this cute book filled with airport love stories, especially now summer season is coming up and more and more people are going to take a break from everyday life to travel.
