Review
I am trying to remember if I ever read a book by Lindsey Kelk. I feel like I have, but I don’t know which one. So this could be the first book by Lindsey Kelk I’ve ever read. The cover of this book is so cute. I remember (I think last year) I was standing in the bookstore and I found another book (love me do) by Lindsey Kelk on the shelves and I thought that the book cover was so pretty. This is another gem. It is so colorful and it is kind of the reason why I picked this book.
I am not going to lie. I love this book a lot. This book made me laugh out loud several times, and it made me feel all of the emotions. The drama in this book was incredible. I was really enjoying the Sophie’s father Birthday party part. It was so dramatic but oh so fun to read.
I think it also a bit relatable. Sophie’s parents are not the biggest fan of romance novels with smut in it. They prefer ‘real’ literature and classics. In the last couple of years, I’ve read comments on Twitter that some people think that romance novels are less than classics. Of course, I completely disagree with that. I always read romance novels, because it is fun, cute and romantic. I like to read about two people falling in love. And reading is supposed to be fun. I don’t need to impress everyone else by saying I read all of the classics.
The characters were likable, except for two. CJ is the obvious one. He was super annyoing and I just wanted to hit in the face and somewhere else. But I also thought that Sophie’s sister Charlotte was a spoiled little brat. She was annoying as well. But the other ones were likable enough. I thought that Sophie’s father was a bit crazy, because I kind of liked that.
Overall I think this was an extremely fun read. I had so much fun reading this. It was funny and cute at some moments. I liked everything about this book. I think it was very close to a five-star read. I am not sure, why I am not giving it five stars. I think it might be my gut telling it is not a five-star read. But it is pretty close.
Extra note: I think the author is a huge fan of Taylor Swift, because she mention her name and music a few times throughout the book. There are also a lot of other pop references. Luckily I knew all of them, but it is possible that you don’t.
