Movies to Watch This Halloween Season

Movies to Watch This Halloween Season

Happy Halloween! Here in my country, we don’t really celebrate Halloween, not like America at least. But I have created my own Halloween tradition and for a few years, I like to watch a Halloween movie on Halloween night. But if you know me a little, you know I am also not the biggest fan of horror movies. I prefer to watch happy movies, movies that make me feel good. I am sure I am not the only one in this world who is like that. So I have created a list of movies to watch this Halloween season including a few less scary movies, so everyone can have a fun Halloween movie night

Movies To Watch This Halloween Season

Scary movie options

  1. The Shining (1980): Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece, “The Shining,” is a classic in the horror genre. It tells the eerie tale of a family isolated in a haunted hotel during the winter. Jack Nicholson’s performance as the increasingly unhinged Jack Torrance is iconic, and the film is loaded with haunting imagery.
  2. Hereditary (2018): “Hereditary” is a slow-burning psychological horror that delves into the complexities of grief and family. With brilliant performances and an unsettling atmosphere, this movie will leave you questioning reality long after the credits roll.
  3. Get Out (2017): Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” combines horror with social commentary. It’s a thought-provoking thriller that explores race relations and features a gripping, suspenseful plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
  4. The Conjuring (2013): For fans of paranormal horror, “The Conjuring” is a must-watch. It’s based on the real-life investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren and provides plenty of scares and jump-out-of-your-seat moments.
  5. A Quiet Place (2018): “A Quiet Place” is a unique and intense thriller set in a world overrun by sound-sensitive creatures. The film’s innovative use of silence makes it a captivating and terrifying experience.

Less Scary movie options

  1. Hocus Pocus (1993) “Hocus Pocus” is a beloved family-friendly Halloween movie that combines humor and a touch of spookiness. Follow the adventures of the Sanderson sisters as they return from the dead in modern-day Salem.
  2. Coraline (2009) Based on Neil Gaiman’s novel, “Coraline” is a visually stunning stop-motion animation film that offers a darker take on a children’s story. It’s a perfect blend of fantasy and mild scares.
  3. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a whimsical tale that straddles the line between Halloween and Christmas. With its memorable characters and delightful music, it’s a great choice for a family movie night.
  4. Monster House (2006) “Monster House” is an animated film that combines elements of a haunted house story with a coming-of-age tale. It’s a fun and spooky adventure for younger viewers.
  5. Beetlejuice (1988) Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice” is a darkly comedic ghost story that offers a blend of the macabre and the hilarious. Michael Keaton’s performance as the titular character is unforgettable.
  6. Hubie Halloween (2020) The film follows Hubie Dubois, a good-natured but eccentric community volunteer in Salem, Massachusetts, who spends every Halloween ensuring the safety of his fellow residents. However, when strange events begin to occur, Hubie becomes the town’s unlikely hero as he investigates mysterious occurrences and protects the town from supernatural threats. The film combines humor and Halloween-themed spookiness in classic Adam Sandler style, making it a light-hearted, fun watch for the Halloween season.
Totally Killer (2023): A sixteen-year-old girl is trying to find the sweet sixteen killer and catch him before he kills her mother, but to do this she has to use a time machine and go back to the eighties. (Read Review)
