Hey there, fellow internet wanderers! Today, let’s snuggle up in our oversized sweaters, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and dive into the world of being a soft girl. It is a lifestyle trend I’ve discovered on TikTok (where else?) and while I do not always agree with certain trends, this is probably one that might be good for people and for me. Whether you’re already embracing your soft side or just curious about what it means, this blog is your cozy guide to all things soft and sweet.
What is a soft girl?
Being a soft girl is all about embracing a gentle, nurturing, and whimsical aesthetic and mindset. It’s characterized by a love for pastel colors, delicate accessories, and cozy vibes. Soft girls often prioritize kindness, compassion, and empathy, both towards themselves and others. They create spaces that feel warm and comforting, whether through their fashion choices, home decor, or daily activities. Being a soft girl isn’t just about appearance—it’s also about cultivating a mindset of positivity, self-care, and appreciation for the simple joys in life.
How to live the Soft Girl life?
Living the soft girl life is all about embracing a gentle and nurturing approach to both your aesthetic and your mindset. Here are some tips on how to do just that:
- Embrace Pastel Colors: Fill your wardrobe and living spaces with soft, calming hues like baby pink, lavender, mint green, and sky blue. Pastel colors evoke feelings of tranquility and sweetness. Although, I don’t think it is really necessary to love pastel colors to be a soft girl. Personally, I love pastel colors but I don’t wear it a lot because warmer and darker colors look better on me.
- Choose Soft Fabrics: Opt for cozy fabrics like cotton, fleece, and cashmere that feel gentle against your skin. Think oversized sweaters, flowy dresses, and fluffy blankets to create a sense of comfort and warmth. Now you have a good excuse to go shopping again.
- Accessorize Thoughtfully: Add delicate accessories like dainty jewelry, lace headbands, and floral hair clips to complete your soft girl look. These subtle touches can elevate any outfit and add a touch of whimsy.
- Create Cozy Spaces: Surround yourself with elements that bring you joy and comfort. Fill your living space with plush pillows, scented candles, and twinkling fairy lights to create a cozy sanctuary where you can relax and unwind. After school or work, you need a place where you can just relax.
- Prioritize Self-Care: Make time for self-care rituals that nourish your mind, body, and soul. Whether it’s taking a bubble bath, practicing yoga, or indulging in a skincare routine, prioritize activities that make you feel pampered and rejuvenated. Self-care doesn’t just taking care of your skin, it also means working on your mindset and health. Start eating healthier, start journaling, and create more happy thoughts (aka be nice to yourself). It also means spending less time on your phone and getting enough sleep every night.
- Spread Kindness: Practice acts of kindness and compassion towards yourself and others. Offer a listening ear to a friend in need, perform random acts of kindness, and strive to make the world a gentler and more loving place.
- Celebrate the Simple Joys: Find joy in the little things in life, whether it’s sipping on a cup of tea, taking a leisurely stroll through nature, or spending time with loved ones. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude and appreciate the beauty in everyday moments. What I am basically saying is to romanticize your life.
- Express Yourself Creatively: Explore your creativity through art, writing, music, or any other form of expression that brings you joy. Let your imagination run wild and embrace the whimsical side of life.
So being a soft girl means you are taking care of yourself and creating a balanced lifestyle. It is about putting yourself first (no that is not egocentric) and having fun. I think we all could use this lifestyle, especially in these modern times where we always burn ourselves out with the things we have to do. We either spending too much time online and we forget to take care of ourselves or we are working too hard. With the soft girl lifestyle, we bring back the balance we need in life.
