There are several ways to make your life a little easier and better, and one of them is preparing for a new week. Your workweek is usually the busiest part of your schedule, so why not prepare for it during the weekend or even on Friday afternoon?
This way, you’ll have more time in the morning, feel more relaxed, and won’t have to think about everything you need to do. It’s a great way to start your week strong. Of course, not everyone has a 9-to-5 job or weekends off, but you can still use most of Weekly Reset Routine Tips and adapt them to your own schedule.
Weekly Reset Routine
- Make a to-do list
I recommend doing this on Friday afternoon, when you’re almost done with your workweek. Write down everything you need to do for the following week and create two categories: one for important/urgent tasks and one for less important tasks. The moment you write everything down, you clear your mind. This means you can start your weekend with a calm head and actually enjoy your days off. Plus, on Monday you immediately know what to focus on, starting with your most important tasks. - Clean your space
Clean your home on the weekend, many people already do this, especially on Sundays. It’s a great habit. When your space is less cluttered and dirty, you feel better mentally. And honestly, there’s nothing better than coming home to a clean house. Most people don’t love cleaning, but you can make it more enjoyable. Listen to your favorite podcast, audiobook, or music. It makes the process more fun. And after you’re done, you can reward yourself. - Prepare your outfits
Imagine waking up and realizing you still have to choose an outfit. For some people, that’s easy, but for others it can take a long time. That’s why it helps to prepare your outfits for the week in advance. This way, you don’t have to think about it in the morning, which saves time and reduces stress. - Set goals
Set SMART goals: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound. Don’t set unrealistic goals, like reading for five hours a day when you don’t have the time. You can also set small daily goals. Setting goals helps you stay focused, and achieving them gives you a sense of accomplishment. - Meal planning
A lot of people struggle with deciding what to eat for dinner. When you don’t plan ahead, it’s easy to end up choosing fast or unhealthy food at the last minute. That’s okay sometimes, but not every day. Planning your meals can really help, especially when you’re busy. It often leads to healthier choices. You can even prepare meals in advance so you only have to reheat them. - Take care of yourself
This is something you should prioritize every day. Make sure you get enough sleep, even on weekends, as it gives you more energy. Create an evening routine that helps you fall asleep faster and sleep better. Eat well and move your body. You don’t have to run a marathon or spend hours at the gym; even a simple walk is beneficial. - Plan fun activities regularly
A lot of people live for the weekend. They work Monday through Friday and only make time for fun at the end of the week. I understand that not everyone has the time or money to do something fun every day, but try to plan a few enjoyable activities during the week. This gives you something to look forward to, and fun activities help reduce stress. It doesn’t have to be expensive, you can have a movie night or play board games with friends or family. - Don’t stress too much
Too much stress isn’t healthy, so try to avoid it where you can. Find ways to relax and slow down. You don’t always have to push yourself to work faster and harder. Take your time with your to-do list. Even if you don’t love your job, there are often small ways to make your days feel a little better.
